To blog or not to blog….

Here we go, it is time for a feedback…. And Im sure people have something to say about this blog assignment because it was quite an experience. To be honest this is my first class that involves this type of communication and Im was very new to it from the begging of class.
Tell that this blog was very interesting, means to say nothing, I really enjoyed it! I think the opportunity that was given to us to express ourselves by writing it here was tremendous benefit especially for student who don’t like talking in class but for those who doJ as well as class time is limited and not everything can be addressed during class hours. Another positive feather I believe is ability to see other people’s thoughts and opinions and not just the ones who sit next to you but any student in the class; reading others blogs I have learned a lot about different cultures, points of views and priorities and eventually let me better understand myself and what drives my propositions.

What I think can be improved is that I would like the professor to participate more in the discussion of the topics and share his perspective and experience.  Another possibility that can be implied is involvement of discussion board where one topic on activity assessment can get a feedback from all the students in a more interactive way and where one can see all other people’s opinions in one place.

I also want to thank all the people who commented my blog for their opinions, I very much appreciate it and consider in my personal evolvement! J

And sorry for being wordy here all along, I know you are the ones who had to read all that!

  1. I like your idea about the involving of the discussion board. I would love to read all of the students' opinions on topics in one place instead of having to read each opinion separately.
I also think that this blog gave us an opportunity to get to know other students in class. It was interesting to read their opinions on different topics.

  2. I love that idea also, like a facebook. There could also be a like button lol....I enjoyed blogging as much as you did. Learning about the different cultures, and culture shock was an eye opener.

  4. Alla, I totally agree regarding finding out all students’ background, in fact this is what I’m usually interested in when I meet someone new. I think this is very interesting. I have always been attracted to different cultures, languages, music and customs. So, the Blog gave me a tremendous opportunity to get those fascinating details from almost each student in our class. Considering the fact that our class is pretty big and the Baruch College is the MOST diverse college in the US, for me it is the best time to get as much realities and information about cultural differences. So, thank you, Prof Kurpis for this opportunity! :)

  5. Alla, I completely agree with you that Prof. Kurpis should also write a blog simultaneously along the class. This will not just give us the stuff from the book but also his opinion in an outside the class setting. Also the discussion board idea is awesome as many times, I have left comments and there have been a comment to my comment but because I did not receive any notification, I could not respond to that.

Overall, another really good blog :)

  6. Don't worry about being wordy... It's always a pleasure to read your blog. Anyway, I also agree that blogging was a great exercise and a clever way to force us to reflect and analyze about the theories taught in class in a way we wouldn't normally do.
Bu reading other people's blogs I also learned about people's dreams, visions, and personalities in a way I don't even know long time friends.

I hope to see you soon
